- Joanna Pang Atkins, Teaching Artist - World Dance

Teresa is an incredible human being and teacher. She uses movement to gently help us unlock whatever obstacles we have, whether they are physical or emotional. In this way she gives us the tools to free ourselves of pain and let go of what we no longer need. She approaches all that she does and each participant with kindness and compassion, and a beauty of spirit that is truly inspiring.

A Note from Teresa

Dear Courageous Woman,

When your body hurts, it might feel best to rest and be still. Yet as time goes by, lack of movement only makes the body ache more and the pain loop continues.

I struggled for years thinking I would never walk without a cane, let alone dance again due to autoimmune disease. I found a way to move my body to feel better and it ended up transforming my life. My path included nutrition, medicine, natural remedies, and finding Nia® mind-body fitness.

Now I do work that I love!

I take a stand for women, like you, who are suffering. You are courageous and you have a unique purpose in life. My mission to guide you to explore more of yourself, to heal what can be healed, and to feel inspired to reclaim your joy in moving.

Pain is not the end of your story. It can be the next chapter of possibilities.

With Love,
Teresa

A journey of healing and inspiration for women

Online Interactive Group Course begins July 19, 2021

What is unique about this course?

A lot of chat in support groups is about the pain and treatments. And that has value.

This course group is about possibilities and what you can do.

One of the most direct ways to the heart of the matter is through the body. Moving is what our bodies are designed to do, and it is a natural way to support ourselves physically and emotionally.

Dance movement done with intention, as you will experience in this course, can open up doors to what's underneath the pain. We allow our body's wisdom to unfold to help us find balance. You will experience the transformational practices of Nia®, Ageless Grace® and the energy healing arts to guide you.

This group course is not a cure for pain, though you will likely find some pain relief.*  Together we will go on a journey to help you explore self-healing and discover how to create more pleasure in your movement and in your life.

If you experience any of the following, this course can support you:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis and other autoimmune illness
  • Cancer recovery
  • Injury recovery
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • You are searching for a way to feel better

You are more than your pain and it's time to reclaim joy in your movement!

*Be sure to get medical clearance prior to joining this gentle movement course from your physician or health professional. This course is a complement to your medical and health professional team guidance.

— Joanna Pang Atkins, Nia Practitioner

I found this program “space” to be unlike any doctor’s office I had been to. This space gave me the time I needed to breathe and begin to experience my body in a way that was not pain-filled.So the “a-ha/surprise” happened even though I had these chronic conditions:  I had this new beginning of experiencing some joy in my body. The physical relief I felt connected me to a feeling of “This body isn’t only pain. There are places I can feel pleasure and strength and excitement – not only the pain.”

"We released some of the tension through the art of movement that was more of a dance, when doing things like that you almost forget about the pain. You get to see how much you really CAN do and not what you can't do. "

"The activities that Terri, a gifted healer, took us through in this program were unusual for this "corporate type" and unexpectedly wonderful!  I connected with my body and chronic pain in a way that I hadn't before and discovered some surprising things about what I really needed to feel better. After years of not feeling like moving, I FELT how much my body craved movement and how gently energized and relieved my muscles and joints felt as we were moving. We laughed, had fun, were in a super positive environment and just relaxed into whatever degree of movement we each felt comfortable doing. The group sharing was also really valuable - after feeling embarrassed by my inability to participate in activities . . . sharing my struggle with people who "get" what it means to be saddled with chronic pain was completely validating."
